Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026

This policy explains how AETHER — Animated QR Generator handles information when you use the browser extension. AETHER creates, customizes, previews, and exports QR codes and animated QR transformations.

1. Information AETHER processes

Depending on the features you use, you may enter a URL, text, contact-card details, Wi-Fi network information (including a password), or select an image for creative backgrounds. If you explicitly use the current-tab URL feature, AETHER accesses the current tab's URL to generate a QR code.

2. How information is used

The information described above is processed locally in your browser to generate QR codes, render previews, customize artwork, and create files you choose to export. AETHER does not need this information to create a remote account or use a remote QR-processing service.

3. Local storage and retention

AETHER uses Chrome's local extension storage for preferences and sanitized draft settings, so supported design choices can persist across the extension's views and sessions. Sensitive contact details, Wi-Fi passwords, and raw uploaded-image data are excluded from persisted drafts and preferences.

Information being used to create a QR code or preview may remain temporarily in the active extension session. Files you export are saved through your browser's download functionality at your request. You can remove locally stored extension data through Chrome's extension data controls or by removing the extension.

4. Data transmission and sharing

AETHER is designed to process QR content, artwork, and exports locally. The extension does not transmit the content you enter, Wi-Fi passwords, contact-card details, or uploaded background images to an AETHER-operated server. It does not sell this information or share it with advertisers or analytics providers.

5. Permissions

6. Security

AETHER is designed to minimize persisted sensitive information and process QR generation and exports locally. No software can guarantee absolute security, so avoid sharing sensitive information in exported QR codes with people who should not have access to it.

7. Children's privacy

AETHER is a general-purpose QR utility and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated if AETHER's functionality or data practices change. The updated date above will be revised when changes are made.
